‘La Journ\u00e9e Mondiale de la Francophonie’ or ‘International French-Speaking Countries Day’ took place on 20 March. The Francophonie is an association which was created with the objective of promoting a dialogue to develop a political and economic solidarity between the French-speaking peoples. The Francophonie represents countries and regions where French is the first or customary language, where a significant proportion of the population are francophones (French speakers) or where there is a notable affiliation with French culture. The organisation comprises 57 member states and governments, three associate members and twenty observers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One class of Year 8s chose a sample of these countries, researched information about food, culture, clothing etc. and presented their findings on the day outside the dining hall.
