On 9 January 2017, the Spring Term got off to a roaring start for the Year 2 students, who were lucky enough to have a visit from the local Fire Services department. Launching their new theme ‘Fire! Fire!’, the children were able to discover more about the role, responsibilities and equipment of a firefighter and even explore a real fire engine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit certainly fuelled the children’s excitement about their upcoming learning, which will delve deeper into the historical event of The Great Fire of London, include science experiments linked with the properties of different materials and also explore art, design and literature linked with the idea of fire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
