The top ten swimmers (one per nation) and the next five best placed athletes, (one from each continent) qualified for a place in the Rio Olympics alongside the top ten from last year\u2019s World Championship 10km Open Water event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being the youngest swimmer in the race by several years, he finished in 51st place out of 61 competitors and came first in Hong Kong. This outstanding achievement has given Singha inspiration and invaluable experience for the next four-year cycle toward qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standard of the participants was very impressive. It included the reigning Olympic Champion Ous Mellouli from Tunisia and the World Cup holder Christian Reichert of Germany.
