{"id":2982,"date":"2018-08-23T05:14:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T05:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.harrowschool.hk\/?p=2982"},"modified":"2018-08-23T05:14:00","modified_gmt":"2018-08-23T05:14:00","slug":"pride-in-outstanding-examination-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.harrowhongkong.hk\/his\/pride-in-outstanding-examination-results\/","title":{"rendered":"PRIDE IN &#8216;OUTSTANDING&#8217; EXAMINATION RESULTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"494\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.harrowschool.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/outstanding-examination-results.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2983\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.harrowhongkong.hk\/his\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/outstanding-examination-results.png 494w, https:\/\/www.harrowhongkong.hk\/his\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/outstanding-examination-results-300x179.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 494px) 100vw, 494px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Harrow Hong Kong has underlined its outstanding academic track record in the 2018 A-level and GCSE examination results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An impressive 83% of Harrow Hong Kong\u2019s A-level candidates achieved A*-B grades, 61% achieved A*-A, and 30% of all grades were A*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eleven pupils achieved straight A* grades in three or more of their subjects, with congratulations to Tracy, Greg, Alexa, Courtney, Sabrina, Elbert, Joshua, Ben (Zeli), Michelle (Ruijia), Kari Ka-Yuet and Sharon for their outstanding achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of A*-A grades were achieved across a broad range of subjects, including Biology, Geography, History, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Religious Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pupils have secured places at first choice universities around the world, with five pupils accepted to study at Cambridge, and others heading to destinations such as Imperial College, UCL, Bath and Edinburgh in the UK. Columbia, UC Berkeley and Duke in the US, and HKU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harrow Hong Kong\u2019s 2018 IGCSE cohort posted record results, with 66% of all grades at A*, 89% at A*-A, and at 99% A*-C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of particular note were achievements in Mathematics (96% A*-A), Physics (96% A*-A), Spanish (95% A*-A), Biology (94% A*- A), Chinese Foreign Language (93% A*-A), and French (92% A*- A).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, AS-level results for Year 12 pupils saw 62% of Harrow Hong Kong\u2019s candidates achieving A grades (A* is not awarded as AS-Level), and 85% if pupils awarded A-B grades. These are record results since the School opened in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One hundred percent of pupils studying Further Mathematics, Chinese and Religious Studies achieved A grades at AS-level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Harrow Hong Kong family sends its warmest congratulations to our pupils for their outstanding A-level and GCSE achievements,\u201d said Head, Ms Ann Haydon.&nbsp; \u201cThese are a reflection not only of their hard work and dedication, but they are also testament to the commitment and guidance of our teaching staff who regularly go above and beyond to support, encourage and help bring out the best in our pupils.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud of them all, not only for the commitment they have shown during their studies, but also for their contributions to the Harrow Hong Kong community where they have demonstrated true Harrovian qualities and will move on to the next phases of their lives as well-rounded leaders, collaborators and problem-solvers ready to make a positive difference in whichever fields they choose.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harrow Hong Kong has underlined its outstanding academic track record in the 2018 A-level and GCSE examination results.
