{"id":11701,"date":"2023-08-21T16:56:02","date_gmt":"2023-08-21T16:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.harrowhongkong.hk\/his\/?page_id=11701"},"modified":"2025-12-04T12:01:35","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T12:01:35","slug":"venue-hire","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.harrowhongkong.hk\/his\/theschool\/venue-hire\/","title":{"rendered":"Venue Hire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"gold font-style-1\">Harrow Hong Kong welcomes the external use of its facilities at times when such use does not interfere the operation of the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The times when the School\u2019s facilities may be available for external use are to a large extent determined by the boarding nature of the School, which has pupils and teachers (whose security, therefore, is important) living on site and utilising facilities well outside normal day school hours, due to&nbsp;the School\u2019s comprehensive extra-curricular and boarding programme. In addition, over the next few years, building improvement and construction works undertaken may have occasional short-term impacts on the availability of some facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The School\u2019s educational philosophy means that building local community links are important and shared activities between Harrow Hong Kong pupils and local schools and organisations have been actively developed since the School opened in September 2012. While such links will continue to be developed, external organisations may apply to host appropriate sporting, educational, charitable&nbsp;and community events at the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It must be understood that entry to the School\u2019s premises for any approved event will be strictly for the agreed facilities only: the School is quite a dispersed site and security arrangements will be required to ensure that external users only visit the agreed location(s) for their event(s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIMING<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the boarding nature of the School, the primary times when facilities may be available for external use will be in the Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks, the dates for which are published on the School&nbsp;website<em>.&nbsp;<\/em>At weekends, external use of facilities will be largely restricted to mutual events involving Harrow Hong Kong pupils and other schools or organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application deadline for venue hire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>20 October \u2013 For using facilities during Christmas Break<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>31 January \u2013 For using facilities during Easter Break<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>31 May \u2013 For using facilities during Summer Break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Late applications will not be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>APPLICATION PROCEDURES<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The cost of hiring the School\u2019s facilities listed above depends on the purpose and nature of the intended event. For any event, there are costs associated with security, cleaning, maintenance, and, where appropriate, \u2018wear and tear\u2019. Please refer to the&nbsp;Scale of Charges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, priority will be given wherever possible to local organisations in order to benefit the local community of which the School is a part of.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Head may reduce or waive the hiring charges if she&nbsp;considers it appropriate, especially for charitable organisations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\u00a0Venue Hire Policy\u00a0and\u00a0Terms and Conditions\u00a0should be agreed\u00a0and the\u00a0Application Form for Venue Hire\u00a0should be submitted to the Director of Operations through\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:venuehire@harrowhongkong.hk\">venuehire@harrowhongkong.hk<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harrow Hong Kong welcomes the external use of its facilities at times when such use does not interfere the operation of the School.
